Event Info
Automation Series 2.1: IP/EtherNet Networking will be held on 18 February 2014

As you are aware, CII has been organizing various online session series in the past. CII Southern Region took the initiative in organizing the Online Session Series on Automation this year. The 2nd Series on Automation would cover Plant wide Benefits IP/EtherNET Networking and the theme for first session will be Fundamentals of Ethernet / IP Networking Technology. The Online Session is scheduled on 18 Feb 2014 between 1100 hrs-1300 hrs.

Introduction:

As technology continues to drive innovation, manufacturing enterprises must keep step to remain competitive. Manufacturers must converge their production disciplines into integrated plant wide architectures. EtherNet/IP - A Single IT-Friendly Network for Enterprise and Industrial Applications today is the most developed, proven and complete industrial Ethernet network solution available for manufacturing automation. It encompasses a comprehensive suite of messages and services for a variety of manufacturing automation applications, including control, safety, synchronization, motion, configuration and information. As a truly media-independent protocol that is supported by hundreds of vendors around the world, CIP provides users with unified communication architecture throughout the manufacturing enterprise &network tools to deploy standard Ethernet technology for manufacturing applications while enabling Internet and enterprise connectivity. The result: data anytime, anywhere.

The EtherNet/IP™ Network provides plant-wide network systems using open, industry-standard networking technologies. It enables real-time control and information in discrete, continuous process, batch, safety, drive, motion, and high availability applications. It supports non-industrial and industrial communications on a common network infrastructure.

Objective:

To educate the participants on the fundamentals, capabilities & Features of Ethernet/IP networking

Key Takeaways:

·         Learn the capabilities and features of EtherNet/IP Networking
